Started.in November 1985 as a partnership
concern called "Checkmate" to provide edit check:ing
and reconciliation support. to Citibank, IPOs and refund
warrant processing units by two entrepreneurs Vispi Mistry
and Dilip Mathkar who between them have fifty years of
experience in the data processing field.
By 1989 the staff strength had swelled to around 50. In
March 1990 Checkmate became Checkmate Consultancy (Bombay)
Pvt. Ltd. At the same time due to diversity of operations,
another private limited company was formed and in May
1990 Talisman Consultants Pvt. Ltd. which
today is the flagship company of the group was born.
During the primary market boom of the early nineties Talisman
Consultants on behalf of Citibank, managed three units
of 2000 sq.ft. each at Swastik chambers, Chembur a suburb
of Mumbai from where more than two million IPO and rights
issue applications and 27 million refund cheques were
processed in a span of three years.
Checkmate meantime managed the entire Citicheck business
as well as credit card processing work of Citibank.
It was in the period 1992-93 we decided to lookout for
our own office space and widen our client base. This brought
us to our current office in Mazgaon, a central locality
about 5 kms away from the business district of South Mumbai.
The Mazgaon office became fully operational from July
1995 and thereon there was no looking back. During course
of time and keeping client requirements in mind, we have
at present five offices ranging from 200 1800 sq.ft. in
the fort area and a 1400 sq.ft. office in Malad. The main
USP of our group has always been total flexibility, to
mould ourselves to clients needs, but always within the
gambit of fair and honest business practices. |
Today the main thrust of our
business is in these three areas
- In-house data processing
- Encoding of cheques and clearing department operations
- Manpower deputation to clients premises
|
As is universally accepted, outsourcing today is the magic
word for all corporates. The two main areas of outsourcing
are Data Processing and Manpower Deputation. Keeping in
mind the constant requirement of manpower, last year we
have started a placement services company headed Mr. Bazyan
V. Mistry. Today Talisman Placement Services is a vibrant
independent proprietorial concern from whom TMC and CMC
rely upon for their never ending human resources requirement. |
